Hi everyone, it’s been a while since my last blog post so I thought I would give you all an update on how crazy things have been the last few months.
Apart from being super busy with back to back sessions there have been a few major hiccups along the way. It all started a few months back when Facebook decided to disable my personal account, I placed my account under review and they told me that it could take up to 30 days for it to be reactivated, only if they didn’t see any activity that was against the rules. Obviously I was confident to get it back because I barely used my personal account, I only had it to be able to have my business account. Throughout this time I couldn’t log in which meant I couldn’t access my business page, which for some reason Facebook decided to leave up and running even though there was no admin to run it. You can just imagine what a nightmare that was for me, Facebook was my main social media platform and where I contacted 95% of my clients. I struggled for a while but like I said I was hopeful I would get my account back.
Unfortunately that was not the case, after 30 days Facebook decided to permanently delete my Facebook account but what was worse was that they left my business page up and it still allows clients to send messages through there. Unfortunately I have no way of viewing or replying to those messages. I’ve had so many of you calling me, sending me WhatsApp messages and emailing me thinking that I’m ignoring you but please know that I am not.
Since then I have had to create a new Facebook account and a new Facebook page. This hit me hard because I had way over 4K followers on my other page and now I had to start from scratch, luckily all of my clients are amazing and they have supported me through this process. Just so you are aware the new Facebook Page is the one that has 2022 in the name, unfortunately I cannot even delete the old one so I’m hoping this guides people to the correct one when searching. I will leave the link at the end of the blog post for you to visit and give it a follow.
So yes, the year didn’t really start off to great but luckily business did pick up and I continued to do what I love most.
Silly me thought nothing more could go wrong but I was wrong, every year I take 2 weeks off in July and that is the only break I get all year round. I go on holiday and spend some much needed time with family and friends but even still I do take my laptop with me to get some editing done in the evenings. What I didn’t expect was for my laptop to die on me after just a few days away. Panic kicked in when I realised that I wasn’t going to be able to meet my deadlines as I couldn’t get my laptop looked at or replaced until I got back to Gibraltar two weeks later. Since it wasn’t the first time my laptop had done this I was convinced it would be an easy fix but once again I was wrong. The laptop was dead and i needed to buy a new one, I had lost absolutely everything. Of course I always have backups of my clients photos so that wasn’t lost but all of my software and programs were gone. This meant I had to buy a lot of them again and setup a brand new laptop, something that also takes time, which I didn’t have. Thankfully my clients are very understanding and they knew the delay was out of my control. I can say that I am finally back to normal and starting to catch up so if you are waiting for photos it shouldn’t be that long now.
So as you can see things haven’t been great this year but hey not everything is bad, I did also get published on a photography magazine called Lensational Model & Photographer Magazine and I participated in a GBC program called Snapshots. Both have been amazing experiences that have definitely helped me boost my confidence throughout all the mess.
I am grateful that even with the major interruptions I have managed to pull through and deliver the best service possible to you all. Once again I thank all of you for your patience and understanding and for always supporting my business in any way possible, there wouldn’t be Pause & Pose Photography without you.
Much love Angelique x
